A dog named Tucker with a thumping tail and a mysterious past as a stray on the streets of Seattle has become an unexpected star in the realm of canine-assisted science. He is the world’s only working dog, marine biologists say, able to find and track the scent of orca scat, or feces, in open ocean water — up to a mile away, in the smallest of specks.

dog in NYC needs home

"I found a very thin pitbull tied up and abandoned on thirteenth st. He had been there for three hrs and was throwing up everywhere and extremely dehydrated. I took him last night to the vet and he should be better by tommorow morning. The problem is come Monday I have no where to take him. Not a single shelter will take him and I have a dog who is very territorial. I was wondering if you had any friends here that would foster or who had some ideas."
